PIO details - Child holding British Passport

Post by kvindia » Tue Apr 23, 2013 10:27 pm

My son is born after I got the ILR. So, I have directly applied for British Passport (without appiying for Nuetralisation or British citizen registration Certificate) and even got my kid pasport today.
I do not have British Citizenship now. So, I cannot apply for OCI to my kid now. I think I can apply for PIO. Can anyone please advise am I eligible to apply for PIO for my kid? If so, what are the documents that I need to submit to HCILONDON.

http://www.hcilondon.in/pio.html - this says everything about Surrender Cetificate/Indian Passport holders. But, doesn't give anything to those who are directly applying with British Passport. So I am bit confused. Please suggest.

Child holding British Passport and registration for PIL

Post by kirana » Fri May 03, 2013 1:38 pm

For a PIO card holder minor( 3 years) who has gone to India who has extended his stay for more than 180 days does he require to do the registration?

I’ve gone through the Indian immigration website it says minors are not required to do the registration but some of them have advised to go for it . So I’m bit confused now, can anyone please advise.

Thanks,
Kirana
