Help and advice needed

Post by Ishaq143 » Wed Apr 24, 2013 2:59 pm

Hi
I am a uk citezen i was born here and lived here. I am 24. In 2009 i went to pakistan with my family and we settled down there. I got married in july last year i am 6months preg now i returned to the uk in feb this year. i dont hav no family here and i am living with friends. The whole reason i returned to the uk is because i want to settledown here and sponser my husband to join me here.
I am currently not working neither is my husband, i have applied sevral places but could not be accepted due to pregnancy.
I have tried applying for job seekers allowance but they refused to support me as they think that i dnt intent to stay in uk. I was also wondering that would i have to pay tax benefit? The gov. Is refusing to help me at all
Could some please give me some proper advise...
Thank you
Will be waiting
Thanks

The reason the DWP are refusing your application is because they say you are not habitually resident. You need to keep applying, there is no set time when they may class you as habitually resident but if you show that you have all your assets here and primary family (husband and children) that should support your case. You can also appeal the decision and this must be done one month from the date of the decision. You can also get your local CAB to help or your local welfare rights officer. I have done many appeals for the habitual residency test and it can take several months for you to be accepted as habitually resident. I reiterate the need to just keep applying every time they refuse you.

As soon as your child is born claim the Tax Credits, Child Benefit and Sure Start Maternity Grant (assuming it is your first child).
