ILR for self: Daughter on dependent

Post by ilrseekerlondon » Sun Apr 28, 2013 12:58 pm

Dear All,

Need quick help on the case of one of my friends:

Background: My friend is appearing for his PEO appointment on 1st may, his is a straightforward case (5 year WP with minimal absences). Along with him his wife and elder daughter are applying for PR under the dependent category. He also has a younger daugyter who is UK born.

Additional detail: He is planning to take a trip to India in July. The complication here is that the timescales for Uk passport are 2 months+ and with any delays in getting the Uk passport for his younger daughter may lead to losses in terms of ticket cancellation cost.

Query: What are the options for his younger daughter:
A. Remain on dependent visa and complete the India trip on this visa, come back and apply for MN1 and UK Passport.

B. Transfer to MN1 as soon as my friend gets ILR and then travel on India passport and after coming back apply for UK passport (is this legal/possible)

C. Apply for MN1, Uk passport and only after getting these two travel to India (any idea on the elapsed times)

Regards,
ILR seekerlondon
