Nationality Checking Service

Post by akchavali » Tue Apr 30, 2013 8:29 pm

Hi Guys,

I am about to apply for British Citizen Naturalization and need your advice regarding availing of NCS for the purpose of my documents verification

I have been searching the local council websites and noticed that the fee to verify the documents by most of the councils is around £150(for a joint application) and this comes to be a surprise as when I applied for my Daughter's naturalization (MN1) last year, I remember paying only 15£ at the NCS Cumbria office.

I would be interested in listening to your experience of using NCS, the price paid and if the prices vary between offices. By the way I live in Hampshire, South West UK

I thank you in advance for the advice.

Best,
Anand.

Yes, the prices vary from council to council - £150 for a joint application seems to be at the higher end.
London boroughs, for example, normally charge £40-£50 per application.

Perhaps try another NCS and see if it's cheaper?

Thanks for the response.

After doing shopping around the NCS Hammersmith and Newbury councils are the cheapest in the lot and offer the checking of the document for Naturalization (MN) for a joint application (husband and wife only) at a total price of £80 and 75£ respectively.

If anyone is also sailing in the same ship as me, perhaps this information could be useful.

Thanks for the clarification in the first place and that guided me to search various council websites to find an appropriate one that suits my requirement.

Anand
