from tier2 general to tier 2 dependent

Post by felsof » Wed May 01, 2013 11:34 am

hi all,
I am kind of in a hard situation. I am currently on tier 2 general but for some personal reasons I will have to be outside uk for around 6 month in a year.
Now my wife is also on tier 2 general, what I want to do is become a dependent of her so can be outside the uk when I need to be . my questions are as follow:
I require another 3 years to apply for ILR under 10 years rule so does my wife. If I become a depenedent of her and outside the uk for around 5-6 month for the next 3 years , when she applies for ILR can I also apply as dependent?
With the dependent visa I can work for anyone when I come back without restriction, is that correct ?
I asked the first question because I think you have to have a maximum of 560 days in the 10 year with no absent of more than 6 month at any year. Are these figure correct ? am I missing anything ?

if i wanted to change back to tier 2 general, i will be subject to restricted cos and have to be outside the country don't i ?

I appreciate if you let me know what my other options will be and all your posts

Many thanks
