Baby born out of UK

Hello Friends,

I am on ILR and my wife is my dependent. Our baby is due in December. I understand that my child will automatically become BC, as I am on ILR, if the baby is born in UK. However we are planning to go back to home country for delivery of baby. Is there anyway my baby can still get BC.

If needed, I can DNA report either here or in UK to establish that I the biological father. Will that help? Or is there any other way out?

If the child is born outside the UK, it will have to apply for naturalization like any other immigrant. There will be a mandatory residence period before the application can be considered.

What happens if in case there is a premature delivery of the child and at that time the parents were out of UK? Any idea?

Children born outside the UK are not British if the parents are not also British. You are not British so the child will not be British.

Are you seriously wondering if the child might (as an special exception) be considered as British because it was always the intention to have the baby in the UK but it popped out sooner than expected?
