How many people have appealed without a solicitor?

Post by JS28 » Wed May 01, 2013 6:11 pm

HI All,

My partner was refused a tier 2 dependant visa under 319c and was given a right of appeal. I really do not know if I should hire a solicitor but they are very expensive :(

What does anyone think?

Its really down to whether you can afford to pay their fees. Purely due to the fact that they have contacts and deal with similar cases often, it helps to have a good solicitor on board....not just any Immigration lawyer but a good one. Some will just take your money and hand your case to a staff member on minimum wage to deal with.

If you feel that you can competently handle the case yourself, there is no reason why you can't go it alone. As it's your partner though, I'd say it's probably best to pull out all the stops and make sure that leave is granted.
