I've been self employed (sole trader) since October 2012 and have just had letter to complete tax return for april 2012 - april 2013 which is 6 months of my business year starting.
When reading the Self Employment - General Requirements it states the relevent financial year will be covered by the self assessment tax return and runs april to march.. (sole trader)
Therefore am i right in thinking that when it comes to applying next year (april/may) for fiance visa its gonna be what ive earned self employed from april 2013 up to march/april 2014 that i have to show evidence for? (with tax return) Not the Oct 2012 to Oct 2013 my business year??
Sorry in advance if this is pretty straight forward dumb question but i just need to make sure i have the understanding right.

Yes it is the tax year April-April. The specified evidence you must submit with the application is
here at page 44.

I assume your statement of accounts SA300/SA302 will be April-April 13/14?

Reading through the evidence needed for self employment and i seem to have ticked all the boxes except one!!
Unaudited accounts has got me in a spin as ive only (last 6 mths) just started self employement (cleaning) as a means to boost my full time job income.
I was keeping simple records but now i have to have certification would it be best to have an accountant first as last or would i only need the accountant at the end of the year to sign off?
what sort of financial records should i be keeping?
