tier 2(general) dependent visa help 6 month old kid

Post by maoxiaomin » Tue May 07, 2013 12:03 am

Hi guys, I really need your suggestions!

I am a tier 2(general) visa holder and I have been in the UK for more than one year. My wife helds a tier 2 dependent visa which is valid until Nov. 2014.My wife left UK for China in june 2012 after we found she was pregnant.now our baby is 6 month old.We decide to apply for a Tier 2 dependent visa for my son so that we can live together in the UK.

The problem for my son's visa application is that I regularly send money to my wife to support their life in China,so there is not enough fund in my bank account during the last three month( some time<600GBP), however, there are always more than 3K in my wife's bank account in China during the last three months.

My question is that if my wife's money can be used as maintenance for my son.according to the UKBA's description. the bank statement or the prove of fund must be under 'the name of the main applicant and/or the family member making the application, or (for children only) the name of their other parent who is also legally present in the United Kingdom; '

my wife is the so called 'the other parent' but she is not 'present in the UK'.even though she has a valid tier 2 dependent visa. Can I carry on and submit the application using my wife's bank statement?
any suggestions? Thank you in advance

Your wife's been out of UK for almost a year now.

Do you have any other forms of savings? Fixed Deposits, Cash ISAs, joint account with ur wife showing enough balance?

Other option you can try is getting Maintenance letter from your employer stating they will maintain and accommodate main applicant + family members for a month limited to £900 for main & £600 for each dependent.

Check your CoS. Did sponsor certify maintenace?
