Tier 2 ext application form sec H Ref no. ?

Is the VAF no. in my passport the UKBA reference no. as asked to mention in the SECTION H of the tier 2 G ext application. This is the only number assigned to me that I know of, or should I answer no in Section H1. An early reply is highly desired.

H1. Have you ever had any Home Office or UK Border Agency reference number assigned to you? All Home Office applications are given an individual reference number. This allows us to track and link past applications. You should provide your dependant’s full Home Office reference number if they have one. This number can be found on any previous Home Office correspondence relating to your dependant. Your dependant may have numerous Home Office reference numbers. If so, you should provide all such numbers

This is only for one who's visa apllication is panding and want to change or vary the application.
I thing it's not for u so u can answer 'No' in Section H1 and go ahead.
