Hi all, looking for some clarification on an application for my wife.
I'm studying for a degree and get a bursary. Because I am a student it is tax free, and equivalent to £18,400 a year. This is just under what I need to apply (18,600).
Can I combine £200 in casual earnings (nonsalaried work) with my degree income to meet the requirement, or does it simply not count if I fall short on one or the other? I called up a UKBA office and the woman was unsure.
I'm anxious because I need a LOT of money in savings if I can't prove otherwise.
It seems this is all to stop me claiming benefits, why can't they just deny me any benefits rather than make me prove I am ineligible?
Best of luck to everyone else
