Highly Trusted Sponsor status given to non existing college!

Hi All!

For past few weeks I have been trying to locate a private college to study in the west midlands region.

What I usually do is to first download the latest register of sponsors tier 4 file from ukba website to check names of colleges having highly trusted sponsor status and then contact them for enquiry.

Amongst the colleges I came across was one named Institute of Business and management ltd Coventry. As per the latest register of sponsors list dated 7th may 2013 they are a highly trusted sponsor college. So I ran a search on google to find out about the college. Funnily they dont have a website. They are only mentioned in some websites which list names of colleges and most of these sites have mentioned about this college in year 2011 or early 2012. I then managed to get a number and called it. I got connected to a voice which announced research development international. I opted to get connected to a student advisor. On getting connected a lady came and said welcome to research development international. I asked her if it is institute of business and management ltd. at first she said no. then i told her that their number is listed on net under institute of business and management ltd. To that she said a long time ago they were under that name but are now are no longer known by that name and are now known as research development international. I then asked her if they offered any full time courses for international students. She said they dont and it seems they only offer part time long distance courses only!

I find it interesting a highly trusted sponsor status has been given to a college which is no longer referred to by its original name and the one in its place only offers long distance part time courses!

It looks like its some clerical error on part of UKBA to include this college but wonder why its not been removed from the list yet? I also find it strange that on one side some really good private colleges get their hts status revoked while non existing colleges such as these still have it!
