Parents Visit visa

Post by madhumesh » Tue May 07, 2013 5:03 pm

HI All,

I have Tier 1 Visa with 2 years and 10 month validity left and going to apply for my parent visit visa this summer. My father has visited me twice in last 5 years and my mother once, I have sponsored their trip fully. Just have few queries to clarify.

1) To sponsor their trip, I understand I have to provide my 6 month payslip and bank statements, The balance I maintain is with my wife in joint account name. Do she need to be a joint sponsor or some kind of letter would suffice?

2) And this account is just five months old, would this be OK or min six month is mandatory?

3) My father has good bank balance in fixed deposits and self employed but does not have enough earnings to file tax return thus couldn't provide returns for last three years. Will this be a problem?

4) Do Fixed deposit documents needs to be original? I remember last time we submitted photo copy of these and got visa approved but guidelines say everything must be original.

5) Given my visa situation and their previous trip , can they apply for 5 year long term visa? Is there high chances of refusal? Please share if any experiences

6) Any ideas, How early I can get VFS appointment in India after submitting form online so that I can plan accordingly?

Highly appreciate any advice or sharing of your experience

Regards

Hi madhumesh,

I have answered to the best of my knowledge hope it is helpful

Q1 --> If your wife also working then there is no harm in providing her payslip along with a letter from her company as joint sponsor, if she is not working then just mention in the invitation letter as "We like to sponsor xxxx" and attach your marriage certificate along with your documents

Q3 --> I am not sure whether it will be problem. I understand your father doesnt earn much to pay tax but it doesnt stop him in filing the tax returns (Tax payable -- 0). Get the Income Tax Return done it will be helpful.

Q4 --> You yourself answered this question.

Q6 --> I have recently submitted my parents application and we got the appointment immediately (Chennai VFS).

Hi Thikpal,

Thanks for your reply.

No my wife is not working, only we keep savings in joint account so that it is accessible to both of us, Any reason you recommended attaching marriage certificate, I did not find it in recommended documents?

I checked with VFS today, and they suggested I should submit original Fixed deposit certificate. What did you do, did you submitted orginals?

Regards

Hi Madhumesh,

You previously mentioned its a joint account thats why I suggested you to submit marriage certificate (to prove the relationship)..

"If you do not provide original documents, it might be difficult for our officers to assess your application accurately, and your application might be delayed or refused"

If you are unable to provide the original document its better to explain the reasons in the covering letter.

Cheers

Any one please could you share your experience regarding Family Visit long term visa, Because of old age it will be helpful otherwise each time they to travel twice to submit and collect visa and plan at least 2 month in advance but not sure whether their will be any issues given my visa situation and only their couple of trip earlier?
