finding the right house !!

Post by DesiBoys » Fri May 10, 2013 12:53 pm

Even though this topic may not be directly related to immigration but settling in the UK in true sense ends up having your own property here..

Currently, we are going through such dilemma on where to buy a house that it is driving us crazy.

For bit of a background - my partner is mostly a home based worker. I work as an IT contractor so needs to be around areas offering maximum jobs such as south east england

We really wanted to buy a house in good areas in surrey but all the good ones are turning out to be real expensive.

We have budgeted oursleves at £350k and would like a good spacious 3-4 bed detached house in a good social areas with good schools.

Any suggestions? have been looking at walton, weybridge, east molesly (way out of our reach).
And now at guilford, fleet etc,

We are also considering reading but not too sure as its too big (heard caversham, tilehurst are good).

Any advice would be great,

So many variables it's hard to know where to start, but I will say that your budget and description of what you are after certainly wouldn't work where I live, and I'm in one of the cheaper London Boroughs (Bexley). Surrey is increadibly expensive. If you have to be out that general direction then like you say, you'll have to venture into Hampshire I expect, and even then you may not find what you're looking for. Good luck!
