No! You should apply now!

Your Stamp 3 qualifies you to apply for citizenship after 5 years of residence.

You are eligible to apply for Naturalisation.

Hi! Can I ask a question similar to the topic in this thread. I recently got my citizenship, my husband has been here in Ireland for 4 years now (5 yrs on Mar 2014); can he apply for citizenship now that I am naturalised - based on association (3 years) OR should he just wait until he completes his 5th year?
Thanks!

Its best that he waits for 5 years and if no offenses, his application will be likely to be approved. Irish association is difficult to approve for some reasons.

Having said that, he does not qualify to apply based on Irish association, unless his kid/s are Irish.

He can also apply based on Marriage to an Irish National (3 years) now and that best as well.
