Seeking Advice.

Post by drdh4 » Sat May 11, 2013 1:13 pm

Hi all,

I'm on Tier1 (G) & ILR due in December 2013 (7 months time, Tier 1G valid till 20th Jan 2014) everything is ok atm (done my LIUK, 5 P60's, pay all ok, cohab docs, etc..)

Got to know that I'm pregnant a few months ago and would like to have my parents over for the delivery. Due date is in the 3rd week of October and I want my parents to be here with me by the 1st week of October at least. My mother is retired and my father runs his own business (both of them are in their 60's)

Since I'm not holding an ILR I wont be able to sponsor them. They are going to apply as General visitor rather than Family visitor (please correct me if I'm wrong).

Do I need to get a letter from my GP confirming my delivery dates so that my parents can state that the purpose of their visit is to be with me?

Also, should I provide a letter of accommodation for the duration of their stay? Any other documents that I should submit other than bank statements, payslips & council tax.

Please be king enough to share your experience & knowledge regarding this.

Thanks

Yes, in a sense. You misunderstand the definition of a sponsor for a visit. A sponsor is someone who offers support with finance and and/or accommodation in the event that an applicant does not have those means. You can still be the sponsor of your parents applications if they need to rely on your benevolence to achieve their visit. They can't apply in the family category but that is a separate issue to being sponsored by person who is in the UK (be they settled or otherwise).

The only real advantage and difference between the family and general categories is a right of appeal but even that is about to change:

It has nothing to do with ILR. Apply he visa as a general visit visa and say you are sponsoring the trip.

Send these docs
1. Self written invitation letter
2. Your salary statements
3. Bank statements
4. Letter from employer confirming your job
5. Tenancy document for address proof
6. Your passport front, back page copy and visa copy or BRP copy.
