Sec 3 (Evidence of lawful residence) - Lost Passport

Post by chennaibabu » Mon May 13, 2013 12:16 pm

Hi, in form AN for the below point in the quote can I show the copy of the Lost passport and UK police report confirming the loss. Would this be sufficient?

I do not work for the same company now, so I cant get the letter from my ex employer.

Any other thoughts? Thanks in advance.
"Evidence of lawful residence during the 5 (or, if the applicant is married to or in civil partnership to a British citizen, 3) years before the date of the application
• Your passports OR say why you are unable to provide one on page 13 and supply
• Letters from employers, educational establishments or other Government
Departments indicating the applicant’s presence in the United Kingdom during the relevant period"

Have you got updated copies of all the pages in the passport to show your travels?

Why not ask HMRC to send you your employment history/records? That will show you employment (and tax paid) during that period.

Thank you Jambo. Nice idea, writing HMRC for tax records could work. Unfortunately I cannot afford to wait that long. I checked the service timelines for HMRC, it is more than the time for form AN processing time.

I do have copy of my Passport with all stampings in it. So, do you think this should do the trick along with the crime report? Many thanks in advance.

Are you sure? Last time I phoned them and asked for my employment history record, it took 3 days to get it by post.

I believe this would be fine. The HO can always verify your presence by other means if they wish.

Jambo, thanks. I will query with HMRC anyway. So that if I get it early, I will use it. Else, I will go with the Passport copy . Thank for your help.
