20 working days has passed, no passport.

Post by Ricardo » Tue May 14, 2013 12:52 am

Hi Guys,

20 working days has passed since I asked UKBA to return my passport, but so far no news. Does anyone know the easiest and quickest way to get my passport back ASAP? I want to make use of it by end of the month.

You can have a read of this thread: http://immigrationboards.com/viewtopic. ... =flipper77 where quite a few people have detailed their trials and tribulations of getting their passport back. I eventually got mine back after involving my local MP - find yours at: http://findyourmp.parliament.uk/
EEA2 Application sent: 09/10/2012
Received by UKBA: 10/10/2012
COA received: 19/10/2012 (dated 17/10/2012)
Passports requested: 14/11/12, 28/11/12 & 12/12/12 (email) and 11/12/12 (mail)
Passports received: 17/12/2012

Thanks for your reply. I have emailed them another request form this morning. If they don't send my passport back by end of the week, I will have to contact my MP. To those that have used their MP to get back their passport. Did you contacted your MP by letter, email or phone?

Agreed with the above poster. I only got mine back after intervention from my local MP. It was sent back the same day my MP wrote to them.

I contacted my MP by phone. I had intended to make an appointment, however when I told them it was to do with the UKBA, they said treat such matters with more urgency, and they took all the details over the phone.

I'd suggest you contact your MP today, no point waiting until the end of the week - especially if there is some urgency in receiving your passport back! From the time I contacted my MP until the day I had my passport in hand was 2 whole weeks!

I have contacted my local MP, but she is even worse than UKBA. She may not be able respond to me in a about month time because of workload. Does anyone know which other means I can use excluding lawyer?

It's a frustrating waiting game, I called the UKBA every second day to check as it has been well over 7 months waiting for me, requested passport back twice... got lucky today when they actually gave me a tracking no for my passport....sigh good luck mate

Send a letter by Special Delivery to UKBA asking for the immediate return of the passport.

Also call every day.

I have sent them a request by post, make a complaint and also calling every day, but they refused to send back my passport. I'm getting frustrated by the day. They told me last week that the caseworker has been instructed to act on my request. Does anyone know what I can do now?

Not that they said to me that they have turned down my request, but they are telling me the usual stuff. Oh we are dealing with your request, please wait for 20 working days. The caseworker has been instructed to act on the request. Or make a complaint. But they can't tell me why my passport hasn't been returned or when is it going to be returned.

An update on my passport return request. I have received my passport yesterday. Thank you all for your support. Finally, I can now travel ASAP.
