Visa refused - please help me with job code selection

Post by maylmi12 » Wed May 15, 2013 12:57 pm

Hi

My visa was refused to the wrong COS code.
My annual salary is £21,000.

My job best matches to code 3545 Sales accounts and business development managers

If I put 35 hours per week: my hourly rate would be at
21000/52 weeks= £403.8 per week
403.8/35 hours= £11.53 per hour rate.

Soo the job code 3545 states.. new entrants must be at £21,700
If I calculate my job at 39 hours per week as all rates are based and quoted,

£11.53*52 weeks*39 hours= £23,382.8

Does this mean I qualify for the code 3545?
If I put,
£21,000 per annum at 35 hours per week.

Please help as I need to reapply asap.

Also, if you make an appointment in person, what do you need to take along with you?

Many thanks,

manci

Remember, it is the sponsor who determines, and is responsible for, the SOC code, not you.

For SOC code 3545 as a new entrant working 35 hours/week the min annual salary would be:
21,700*35/39 = 19,475

Thank you for your reply.
Yes my employer will put 35 hours per week.

For the start and end dates of work:
My new contract started on April 1st 2013. Contract ends in 3 years time, so will I have to put

Start date as: april 1st 2013?

hi in this case the minimum salary will be 20,300 always as a minimum threshold.

that is correct - the salary has to be £20,300 or the figure given for the SOC code, whichever the higher (overlooked this in the previous post)

If you want to reapply, can you do it straight away? Or is it better to do it after a week or so...?

My application got refused for selecting the wrong job code by my employer. Will it not look good to reapply straight away with a new job code (correct one)? Or does that not matter at all as long as you get it right?

Can you reapply straight away after you get rejected? Or does it not matter when you do it as long as you do it when you still have time on your visa?
Please advise, I would like to send my application again next week.

Reapply as soon as possible! It might be better if you can use priority service!

I'm talking about priority postal application and not PEO.

For priority applications, can all Tier 2 applicants apply?
