fiance visa applying from spain

hi

my partner lives in Spain. he wants to apply for fiance visa so he can marry me in the Uk.

for him to apply will he have to submit a application online using the ukba website then book an appointment at the British consulate? also would he have to book his appointment at the British consulate in Madrid or the one near to where he lives.

Im a British citizen, where do i send my documents to support him with his application. would i need to travel to Spain or can i send them from here.
