Question About Set M ILR

Post by a77lawi » Fri May 17, 2013 4:20 pm

Hi there,

I am going to apply for ILR next month on basis of being on spouse visa for 2 years and married to British citizen.

I am not really clear about what do I need to provide the UKBA with as proof of employment,

I have worked on permanent basis or one or two companies for couple of months then I was fired (not very lucky i know ). I got 3 payslips from these jobs.

Currently I am web developer, self employed, I have done tax return for 2011-2012 as well as 2012-2013, got receipts of HMRC payments for NI contribution class 2.

I was looking online I found that someone had to provide a self-employed contract and invoices for his current employer, someone else suggested to get a reference letter from an accountant to show earnings for at least 1 year.

So what exactly do I need to show them? I looked on the SET (M) web page I found nothing about self employed.

Please not my wife works for NHS full-time permanent and she earns month than the 18k they need.

regards,
:)

You don't need £18k you just need to be able to maintain yourself. Just concentrate on getting the last 3 wage slips with the corresponding bank statements for your wife and you'll be fine. Just put in your tax returns and tell them what you earn, your wife's wage will carry you over, no need to worry.
