Has anyone gained entry to the UK showing only the passports and marriage certificate or been refused entry?

I believe I have read of EU citizens and their (non) EU family members successfully entering the UK without a EEA family permit of UK residence card.

It is doable provided:

You are the family member of a EU citizen
You both are travelling together (or joining your spouse who is already in the UK)
You both have passports/ID cards or other means of proving your identity
Marriage/CP certificate

If you are the family memeber of a UK citizen using the Singh route then have proof that your EU spouse exercised treaty rights (as a worker or self employed person) in another EEA state before arriving in the UK.

Do a search on this forum and you should find a couple of accounts.

UK does not accept the Residence permits being issued from other member states for visa free entry at the moment. I believe under surinder singh route can be possible.
