Child visit visa for daughter

Post by dazzle » Mon May 20, 2013 10:55 am

Hello everyone,

My wife and I are considering inviting her 10 year old daughter for a visit to the UK, for a month or so.

She now lives in Africa and has been looked after by her grandparents since birth. I have not adopted her yet.

In 3 or 4 years we plan to eventually move her to the UK permanently.

I understand that the family visitor visa is for 18 years+
The child visit visa seems to be more geared towards a child leaving their parents to go on holiday and to be cared for by someone else.
Can anyone confirm exactly which visa should be used please? We did declare her name on the initial spouse visa application as a daughter, but there was nowhere to include it on the later FLR application. I hope that doesn't somehow complicate things.

Thanks
