Citizenship 7 Years Main and 3 Years Spouse(I read the FAQs)

Post by faxmachine » Mon May 20, 2013 8:21 pm

Hello All,

I read the FAQs and different posts on the topic; some answers are very conflicting answers as compare to FAQs.

My question is -

I'm in UK for past 7 years currently on ILR for past 1.5 years and my wife is in UK for past 3 years and on ILR for past 1.2 years.

We are looking to apply for citizenship. I wonder can we apply together or my wife I have to wait unless I got my neutralization letter.

Please advice.

You could apply together but you would be relying on the discretion of the caseworker.

Although some lawyers stated it worked for their clients, I haven't read a success story in the forum (although this doesn't mean it doesn't work). The savings nowadays is about £200 and 2 months. I personally would wait rather than count on the caseworker discretion (and risk the fee).
