Surrender of passport - VFS tracking

I sent my application for surrender of passport yesterday by royal mail special delivery, on tracking the item it shows delivered at 7 in the morning.

but when trying to track the application on VFS it still says record does not exist, I guess they haven't put my application into their system yet. Does anybody knows how long before it actually start recognising you

Also, another question on OCI application which I know is only possible after surrender - but worth asking now ... only thing we submit in original is Surrender certificate, so for return of it do we have to send the royal mail special delivery envelope (grey colored) just for that one page or can we send a normal envelope with first class stamp.

Any help guys on when does the tracking actually appears, at the minute its still showing 'record does not exist' even after a day.
