Dependent visa applied IN Chennai

Hi

I have applied for a dependent visa for my wife when my status in uk was Naturalised as British citizen but I haven't received British passport.

Now, I have got my British passport and my wife's visa is still in progress with British high commission , Chennai. I have also surrendered my Indian passport with Indian embassy.

Since,I have surrendered my Indian Passport , so my Indian passport is not valid any more, I have given a copy of the Indian passport with my wife's visa application.

can some one please explain me as, do I have to send a copy of my British Passport to the high commission now ?
