Tier-1 General Dependent - Policy Guidance + Supporting docs

Post by neesh » Thu May 23, 2013 8:24 pm

Hi all

Apologies if this has been asked before (which i am sure it is) but I have tried searching the entire forum but could not find a complete up-to-date list of supporting documents needed for an out-of-country (India) Tier-1 General Dependent application. I could not find the policy guidance either

I plan to apply for my wife's tier-1 general dependent application from India and it will be very helpful if you can please list supporting documents needed to make this application and policy guidance.

I am a tier-1 general visa holder and been in the UK for past 4.5 years.

Thanks in advance.

thanks a lot @venture and @shakirsk

one more questions for you or anyone else who has filled this application form

How to answer this question

1. Please state the amount of money available and total number of dependants

Shall i just say 1500 (600+900) for 1 dependent or shall i give the actual amount available (say 3000) ?

reply is much appreciated

this is what i have answered for the questions below, can someone who has applied verify if these are correct

1. Please state the amount of money available and total number of dependants - "Money available in my husband account is approx 3000 GBP.Balance has not fallen below 2600 GBP in last 90 days, bank statements attached as evidence.I am the only applicant applying for my visa in this application,so there are 0 dependents on me."

2. Do you receive income from any other sources‚ including friends or family? - My wife is employed in the UK (living with me) currently on Tier-1 (She will be switching category to MY tier-1 dependent and applying from India). Does she need to say "Yes" to this question and state that her husband, i.e me, bears all her expenses. Or does she just need to say NO

3. As for my wife's previous travel history, she has been to UK quite a few times to study and been to other schengen countries as well. Does she need to specify the EXACT duration of her stay with dates in the past immigration history section? Or approx dates are ok?

thanks in advance

Hi Neesh,

My case was - My wife has just completed her education and wasn't working nor had traveled to any country before. When I have applied for dependent visa for my wife, I have mentioned below comments for the questions asked by you.

1.
INR 149,590.00 in ICICI Bank Account on My Name, INR 74,856.34 in HDFC Bank Accout on my Husband's Name and GBP 1,497.70 in HSBC Bank UK on my Husband's Name, No Dependents, Statements provided for all above as proof.

2.
Q) "Do you receive Income from any other sources.........."
A) Yes.
Q) "You stated that you receive income from other sources........."
A) My Husband has been providing financial support every month for my persoonal expenses and savings in India.

3.
As per my knowledge, she has to provide exact dates and I guess you can get the dates which are stamped on her passport.

Hope this helps.
