MN1 Form - Signatures issue

Hi - I am due to apply for British Citizenship for myself, my wife and my daughter. My daughter was born outside the UK and she is over 3 years now. We obtained ILR about 1 year ago i.e. after my daughter was born.

In looking at the form, it seems that we need two signatories:
a) one referee should be british citizen + professional / above 25 years
b) one referee should be professional who has engaged with the child in a professional capacity such as a teacher, health visitor, social worker or minister of religion

In case of (a) above, we do have someone that is willing to sign but the issue we are having with is (b) above. My daughters teacher, health visitor and social worker have refused to sign and as we are not Christains, we do not have minister of religion. I am a bit stumped as to how I can move forward. Any thoughts???

Hi,

I'm in the process of applying 'Registration of BC' for my child (5 months old).
Is applying the applocation through Nationality Checking Service is some what quicker? Does any one come across this?

And getting the appointment with NCS is so difficult and waiting time is atleast 2-4 weeks.

Please help.

Hi - I thought the list of professional individuals is relevant for Form AN only (used by adults) and not MN1 (used for child applicants). Thanks,

Was your child born in the UK? And s(he) was, were you settled (had ilr or pr)?

Hi - Thanks. I have looked through the link and while there is info on signatories / referees, it is for children who are born in the UK [section 1(3)]. As our child is born outside the UK, I was wondering who could sign if the teacher, health visitor, social worker have refused to sign and we don't have a minister of religion. Please help.
