Marriage as a visitor & then return later for Spouse vis

Post by xcutezix » Sat May 25, 2013 2:00 am

Hi,
I'm currently living with my fiance in Argentina (on a visitor visa) and have been here for the last 2 months (not working). We want to marry in the UK and live permanently in the UK and have chosen to have a May wedding. The only problem is that I will not get back to work for 6 months and then apply for the fiance visa we will have no time!
We have already been engaged for a year and have set our heart on May 2014.
Is there a possibility we could apply and marry on a 6 month visitor for marriage visa then after the wedding he returns to Argentina (i stay in the uk) and then we apply for the spouse? By that time i would have been working over 6 months and we will have the financial evidence together, i will be settled and we get to enjoy xmas together (bonus!)
Is this wishful thinking or can it be done?
Are the UKBA strict on the fiance then spouse route?
What are your thoughts?

One last thing, can my fiance attend a local college to study and complete his English exam while on a visitor/visitor for marriage visa or is this a no no?

Thanks for the help and regards!

Amy

It should be possible to get a visit for marriage visa. However, it may be simplest to marry in Argentina, as you are currently there together.
