registration of kids as a British citizens

Post by kaalimurgi » Tue May 28, 2013 2:51 pm

Dear Senior members

I have got 2 kids one is born here and other is born outside UK.
Is it possible to register them as British citizens now as my wife has already got ILR while I am waiting?

Kaali

The child born in the UK will have entitlement to register as a British Citizen under section 1(3) of the British Nationality Act once either parent becomes settled (in this case has attained ILR).

The child born outside the UK can register by discretion under section 3(1) of the British Nationality Act. For the child born outside the UK it would be better to wait until the parent is a British Citizen.
