Switch from Tier 2 - ICT-Main to Tier 2 General-Dependent

Post by vishal.subash » Tue May 28, 2013 9:44 pm

Hello- I am currently on Tier 2- ICT visa starting from Jan 2012 to Jan 2014 and my wife is on Tier 2- General visa from Jan 2012 to Jan 2015. We both are currently working in UK and I would like to switch from my Tier 2 ICT visa to dependent on my wife’s Tier 2 General visa.

I have four queries-
1. Do I need to go to India for switching from Tier 2-ICT to Tier 2- General Dependent?
2. What all documents I need to submit with the application?
3. Please confirm the only option is to apply via “online form” and no “paper form” option is available?
4. What is average timescale for visa processing in India?

Your valuable advice to confirm if there is anything else I need to take care off is much appreciated.

Thanks,
VS

1.
Under the rules you have to return to India and apply for entry clearance from there. However, you may be interested to read this:

Thanks for the reply, That's quite useful to read the link, and this is really painful, as in my case I have to unnecessarily pay for the flights costs and also a break in my current service until I get the visa in India.

I am hopefully waiting for other queries to be sorted soon.

Thanks,
VS
