It looks like you are more interested in getting benefits rather than coming here and genuinely investing money.

dear Dancingguy5,
your reply to sunshine55 seems to be out of prejudice. everyone deserves respect on this forum and no one has any right to judge any other member on this forum.
as far as i can see from his question, he is simply asking about ILR and the state support which every citizen is entitled in this country after spending certain period of time. if anyone is paying such exorbitant taxes and offering his best years of life to this country than he should get the appropriate benefits such as free education, healthcare, pension etc.

dear Sunshine55, pls refer to this link as it contain all the information related to starting a life in uk, hope it helps you to answer your question.

@sunshine: first of all just forget about ILR think about your business, investment and all the legal procedure to run and fulfill the visa requirement, it's not like work permit that u can work straight away or u gets a job easily, it's 6 years track towards ILR, but 6 years including your next extension u just need to establish a business successfully, and to prove that you can creates jobs for British citizens. You can get the answer of your question after 7 years.

first get the visa sunshine55, also you will not be entitled to any benefits until you get ILR which will take 5 years if you successfully run a profitable business and create jobs etc and meet other requirement.

once you get ILR than you can think about it and claim benefits accordindly.

regards

Jokes apart..... You can claim ILR just after 3 years of your entre... visa.
FOr that these are the following requirements:

during the 3 years you have to create 10 jobs and show £5million turnover.
After showing this you are eligible for ILR however you wont receive ILR and have to extend your visa for another 2 years under the entrepre... extension applicant as you automatically qualify.. then after 5 years you can apply for ILR. After ILR you spend another 1 year in UK to claim your citizenship.

Sorry Sunshine55 as these may be disappointing for you what the forum members have suggested but this is truth because the UK is no longer an easy country in this regard.

May your dream turn true but I would suggest to you: be positive and be determined for your shining future.Uk citizenship cannot gurantee you a successful future.

You should safely assess and calculate your potentials, capablity and resources to be an entrepreneur in the UK and if you have found yourself entitled against the required criteria.Go ahead with your application and if successful.Come here.Start business and invest money.Look forward to every tomorrow as your real future.Forget to look forward to 6/7 years just to get citizenship.

Sorry for any unfavourable comments.
Experience and understanding can get you to the goal.Every information based on my own experience is friendly shared in goodfaith.

lets assume u have got the enterprenure visa. after 3 years you need an extenssion for another 2 years (as per current rules but you never know what it gonna be like after 3 years :))and let suppose you get extenssion then you will qualify for indefinite leave which mean no further extentions required and you can live, work and get all the benefits. then u need another year because to be entitled for citizenship you have to spend another year on indefinite leave, you would go through citizenship process and you will be granted citizenship cetificate and after that you can apply for british passport. if you are successfull to get initial visa for three years your kids under 16 would be still entitled to get free medical & education provided by states schools (primary & high schools) but no other benefits are allowed as UKBA grants conditional visa stating that no access to public funds (state benefits like housing, child benefits, low income support etc etc). correct me if m wrong please.

hope it would clear your doubts.
