English Language test requirements

Post by ForumsPK » Thu May 30, 2013 10:53 am

I am sure this has been asked quite a few times but I just can't find the right results from search. I understand anyone who is going to apply after October 2013 will need this test on top of Life in the UK.

My wife will be applying for British Citizenship next year and she needs to clear the test as well. She hasn't got a degree in English and her country is not listed as English speak so that's both out.

To qualify, she needs to obtain either one of them

*Secure English Language Test (SELT) Level B1 plus Listening & Speaking
*English for Speakers of Other Languages - Entry Level 3 (Level 1 or 2 with speaking and listening).

Would IELTS be accepted as an alternative to above?

Am I right in concluding above or am I missing something?

Thanks

Also if someone please help me understanding what these courses involve? Is it Speaking & Listening exam only or writing as well?
