Child benefit and different surname

Post by nehagharge » Thu May 30, 2013 11:28 am

Hi,

I would be claiming child benefit.

My child's birth certificate has got my name with my husband's surname and my id proof, i.e., passport has got my father's surname.

If I want to apply for child benefit, is it going to be a problem as my both surname's don't match.

Should I change my surname in my passport to match with the birth certificate of my child.

Please advice
