Visa for my Mother

Post by Tier2GenSan » Sat Jun 01, 2013 9:05 am

Hi All,

I am on a Tier 2 Gen. in UK and have been here for almost 4 years.
My mother lives separately from my father (though not divorced) in an old age home. She does not have any property or finances on her name. She is 63 years old.

I would like to invite her to UK temporarily or permanently to stay with me.

Can you please suggest what my options are as I feel lack of finances or property on her name could be a problem?

See http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas ... -students/ and once you're settled, possibly http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas ... dependent/

Thanks Amber but it seems that before settlement(ILR) which doesnt happen for another 1 year I do not have an option.

Can you confirm that?

If your Mother wishes to come here to visit you then http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas ... uirements/ (note she would not be allowed to come here to receive private medical treatment as a visitor) but yes, to settle with ILE it is only possible once you're settled and even then there are strict requirements as per the link above.
