Desperate help needed please .. Lost Passport

Post by Singhy » Sun Jun 02, 2013 9:20 am

Dear Mods,

BACKGROUND -
I am an Indian citizen (passport) holding an ILR Card since Feb 2013. I am planning to apply for British Naturalisation in Feb 2014.
I have two Indian passports - first one expired in March 2013 (which had all my UK visas till date and travel stamps). Since this passport was getting expired , i applied for a new passport in London and i got a new one. My ILR has been issued on this new passport.

ISSUE -
Yesterday i have left my old passport (expired) somewhere on the tube or train. I searched for it quite a lot but couldnt find it.

I still have my ILR card and new Indian passport.

QUESTIONS -
1. What steps should i now take to report my lost (expired) Indian passport in Uk?
2. For getting any other Visa (say to go to US / Europe for holidays in a months time) is there a requirement to keep the physical copies of both the old and new passport together?
3. While applying for British citizenship is there a requirement to physically show all the old and new passports ?
4. The naturalisation form has a section where they require my international travel dates of the last 5 years. All these travel stamps were on my old passport. Now that i have misplaced it (and i dont remember all the dates) , how do i get around this ??

Please any advice here would really help.

regards, Y

1. The police should accept/process a lost passport report.
2. Subject to individual country's visa requirements.
3. See also Annex B: The residence requirements > 2. Checking the residence requirements.

We have lost her ILR card without which she won't be able to travel. I understand the process of applying the replacement ILR card but am struggling to find out how much time usually does UKBA take to send back the replacement card ? Can anyone help me with this please ?

Also would be great to know , given the situation we are in , is there a way to expedite this process please.

Urgent help would be much appreciated please.

Thanks, Y

The reason i am searching this i that, i want my wife to give birth back home but friends of mine told me that even though we both got ILR, your baby if born in your home country will not be entitled to get BC automatically but you have to register the baby and you know all that process.
