Post by mzeeshan » Thu Jun 06, 2013 12:27 am

Hi All,

Thanks in advance for all the help and guidance that i got from this group in the past. And i am once again here with some queries.

This time i have following Questions Plz Plz help me out..

I am on Tier 1 General Visa and an IT engineer here in UK for the past 3 years. Now i want to sponsor my sister on Tier 4 student visa. How can i fully sponsor my sister i.e taking care of her full fee, transport and accommodation, Food and health care expanses ? My sister lives in Pakistan and she already have a MBA degree from there.

2ndly, Students in highly Trusted Colleges are allowed to work or not ? If not then under which circumstances students can work.. ? Pointers to rules/Guidance would be much appreciated.

As always looking forward to your detailed reply. Plz help.

You cannot do this until you can legally prove that you are legal guardian of the applicant. You need to have some court document for this. Plus a Tier-4 applicant needs to show an amount (i.e. maintenance fund) in his/her bank account as per law. There is no need to show full fee, transport and accommodation, Food and health care expanses separately.

Simple is that, you actually cannot sponsor her, or, in other words, there is no need for you to become her sponsor. The best thing is, get her a CAS from UK sponsor and deposit all money into her own bank account according to application requirments (i.e. first year fee + 9000/7200 + 28 days in bank). This is what she needs to make her visa application.

No. HTS has nothing to do with direct work permission. Only student who enrolled in Govt. Universities and Govt./Public Funded Colleges can have 20hrs/10hrs work permission respectively. HTS is a Home Office provided rating to all sponsors.A private college can also be HTS where students dont have direct work permission.

Also, Would you be kind enough to list some of the public funded universities or colleges that offer 10/20 hr working hours during the course. ? Pointer would be much appreciated.

Almost all the universities in UK are Public universities which retain the HTS status too. They can differ in terms of its admission requirements but university students get work rights too along with the possibility to sponsor its dependents if the course is at level 7.
Usually undergraduate course is classified as Level 6 and masters is classified as level 7. A lot of information regarding selecting a suitable course at suitable university can be found at

Hi
If your sister already have an MBA then ignore Public funded colleges.
Because she would be eligible to enrol on Master Degree (Level 7) and pub. funded college don't offer that.
Almost all universities in UK are public funded. She will get a work permission of 20hr/week.
There are hundreds of universities in UK; so select the one that suites to your budget.

Hope that assist. Feel free to get back if you have any other question.
