Dutch Nationality

Post by yvt00 » Fri Jun 07, 2013 8:59 pm

Hey everyone i just have a question about my eligibility to a dutch nationality. My late maternal grandmother was dutch but my grandfather is Lebanese, so by the old nationality law my mother did not receive dutch nationality. However, i read that since October 2010 , my mother is now eligible to acquire via the option procedure ( she was born before 1985 ).
If my mother acquires it , can i get it even if i'm over 18 ?
I would like a knowledgeable answer , and thank you :)

PS. Both my parents are lebanese

It does also depends on when your grandmother married. A Dutch woman who married a foreigner before 1 March 1964 lost her Dutch nationality automatically.
You can have a look at http://www.everaert.nl/en/desks/nationality-desk and email your question to info@dutchcitizenship.nl
