Credit history and ILR

Post by Raquelruiz » Fri Jun 07, 2013 9:07 pm

I am applying for ILR SET(M) as a wife of a British citizen . My FLR was granted in June 2011, so if I understood correct the old rules apply for me? My husband had a overdraft for many years and due for been inconsistence with his payments the bank has transferred his account to debt recovery. This happened recently and we haven't made a agreement yet or have been notified of anything. We have another bank account where our wages go in normally and it's been with credit consistently, do I need to mention the credit recovery process? And if I do, what can I do to back us up? I appreciate any advise,

Thanks

Yes you're under the old rules. Your partner's debt issue shouldn't be an issue. If the applicant shows no intention of paying debts that can be a general ground for refusal. You should contact the National Debt Line or your local CAB if you're having financial difficulties.

There is no need to mention it.

You dont have to mention until and unless there is a court judgement against you(Which will fall as a civil matter)
