Any challenges for 9th July 12 rules?

Post by Ayyubi72 » Fri Jun 07, 2013 9:09 pm

Is there any ongoing legal action being pursued to challenge the validity of 9th july 2012 immigration rules, specially the financial requirements and the effect on right to family life?

Thanks for the links. I am aware of these campaigns.
I was asking about legal challenges, not public campaigns.

Did you look up Alvi [2012] UKSC 33? If you look it up you might get more recent associated cases.

Thanks Amber. I am aware of Alvi.

Was just interested in the challenges if any to the 9th July 2012 on the basis that the rules themselves are not legal or are the requirements are dis proportionate or contravene article 8 rights in principle.

I think there is no substantial ongoing challenge right now.

Try MM and Ors v Secretary of State for the Home Department [2013]

Refused permission to appeal to UKSC in February.

I meant ongoing, as in a challenge pending before the courts.
