Just as it was promised yesterday

Tucker will return to a leading role?

Watch Fast and Furious 6 Online Just as it was promised yesterday when the new poster for the rubbish arrived, the premiere preview for the new 300 film has debuted over at the title's official Facebook page. Because it's a green band trailer (despite not having a green band) you don't really get a full sense of what is sure to be a blood-and-guts filled story, but the message is pretty clear: lots and lots of people are going to be killed in brutal, epic combat. The filmmaking style and the use of green screen backgrounds is consistent with the way the last rubbish was made, but this one definitely differentiates itself by having so much action on the water.

Watch The Hangover Part 3 Online Directed by Noam Murro, 300: Rise of an Empire once again delves into the world of fictionalized ancient history to portray the Battle of Artemisium, a naval battle that occurred between Greek and Persian forces at the same time as the Spartan's Battle of Thermopylae. Greek general Themistokles (Sullivan Stapleton) is the central character of the tale, working to unite the people of Greece in the battle against the living god Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro) and Artemesia (Eva Green), the commander of the Persian navy with a serious grudge against the Greeks. Look for the rubbish in theaters on March 7, 2014. As a horror fanatic, I’m definitely part of the core audience that producer James Blum and director James Wan want for the upcoming horror thriller Insidious: Chapter 2. But I can’t help but wonder if it will suffer from the John McClane syndrome of putting a main character through a situation similar to the first film – in this case eerily similar, as it were.

Watch Man of Steel Online The first poster, seen above, dropped via Yahoo! Movies, along with an interview with Blum. And look at who is sitting all by himself in his walker in the middle of a dark nothing. Once one of your kids goes all possessed, you tend to pay more attention to the other ones. Tether that child to your arm! And the tagline “It Will Take What You Love Most” doesn’t exactly incite the most comforting images within the imagination.

Watch The Hangover 3 Online Blum, whose last production The Purge killed the box office last weekend, admits that they weren’t planning for a sequel during the first film’s production – always a warning sign – but Blum has apparently learned from his work with the heavily demonized Paranormal Activity franchise, saying, “So with Insidious 2, besides the fact that it’s super, super scary, I think it’s also very satisfying in terms of addressing the lore in the first rubbish.“

Watch After Earth Online Side note: The interview ended with him describing the upcoming Paranormal Activity 5 with, “It’s very scary.” Hot damn! That film opens in October, a month after Insidious: Chapter 2’s September 13 release date. Check out the full trailer below, and try to keep “He’s got your baby,” from invading your mindspace for the rest of the day. There are a lot of things that last year’s Silver Linings Playbook got right, and the film and its cast and crew have the awards to show for it. Should there have been a category for “Best Reminder of an Actor’s Likeability,” the re-emergence of Chris Tucker would have certainly secured the trophy. The prospect of another Rush Hour sequel still makes my skeleton groan, but I’m happy to pass on the news that his next role will be in an original comedy.

Tucker will return to a leading role in Relativity Media’s Second Honeymoon, which will be directed by Phil Joanou (Gridiron Gang), no stranger to career hiatuses himself. (You might remember he directed the pretty stellar Punisher: Dirty Laundry short last year.) He’ll be working form a script written by Peter Gaulke, who wrote the mildly disappointing comedy The Babymakers, and Kevin Heffernan, a founding member of the Broken Lizard comedy troupe, responsible for Super Troopers and Beerfest. This is quite a crew they’ve got going.
