Husband Died with three months left on spouse visa

Post by MilesR » Thu Jun 13, 2013 10:03 pm

Help my friend's husband has just died suddenly. She is Ugandan and has been here on a spouse visa for 21 months. This visa expires on 30.09.13 and she was just preparing to apply for ILR. She has fourteen and twelve year old daughters who have british passports. Does anybody have any idea whether she can still apply for ILR or if not what can she apply for?

Yes she can apply immediately and does not have to wait the application would be set(o). There are no other requirements.

Thanks so much for this. This will be such a relief to her in such a difficult time. I have had a quick look at set(o) and it looks like she doesnt even have to sit the life in the Uk test. Am i reading this correctly?
