Tier 2 General - Dependent visa - Bank statement query

Post by amul » Sun Jun 16, 2013 12:21 pm

Hello,

Hope you doing well. I need advice from members and senior members in regard to applying dependent visa for my family. I am on Tier 2 general and I came to UK 1 month back and now would like to bring my family. As I don't have 3 months bank statement here in UK as I have come only 1 month back, can I show my home country bank statement which has sufficient fund available for 3 months. Quick reply is appreciated.

Thanks
Amul

Yes you can do this. Use the following website to calculate the appropriate amount in your home country's currency.

http://www.oanda.com/

You should have maintained this amount for 3 months directly in your bank (nationalised) account or as Fixed deposits. In case of fixed deposits, you shouldn't have any loans and bank should give you a confirmation that the FD can be encased any time on your request.

You can also maintain the amount as a joint account holder with your family.

Thank you VickyImmy.

I have been maintaining amount in bank in India but it is considered as private bank (HDFC). Can you please guide if the balance will be considered to be applied for depdenent visa. I have managed the account for 8 years with this bank.

Quick response appreciated.

HDFC is accepted. You wont have any problems.

You should ensure the amount you should show UKBA, is maintained for 90 days continuously without dropping for a paise.
