How does IPS contact the person who countersigned applicatin

Hi everyone,
I have 3 question and would appreciate if you answer them for me
1.does IPS always contact the person who countersigns the application?
2.how will IPS send acknowledgement? ( by post or email etc)
3.how do they contact the person who countersigns the application? email/phone/letter?

1. No.
2. They don't (although some reported they got a text message if they have provided a mobile number).

If necessary, try contacting IPS directly (phone) yourself. They are more helpful, compared to UKBA.
