Postal ILR App. recv. after 7 mths apply for nat. in 5mon.

Post by non_eu » Sun Jun 16, 2013 4:37 pm

I received my ILR under 10 years rule after 7 months from the application date.
Can I Apply for naturalisation in 5 months from the date I received ILR. instead of spending 1 year from the date of receipt date of ILR.
Appreciated for all your help.

No, you could possibly apply 8 months after bring granted ILR if you think a7 month wait for ILR is protracted and wasn't your fault. However, I don't think waiting an extra 4 months is that bad considering the potential loss. If you're married or in a civil partnership with a British citizen you don't have to wait.

Many thanks. Is there any immigration rule, I can refer to apply with in 4 months. The law firm I have applied lost first biometric ID request letter and I have taken biometric for Homeoffice's second reminder.

Does it my fault ?

Is there any specific immigration law about waiting time after ILR granted also mentioned about delay occurred to process postal application.

Many thanks

Yes it was your fault, well technically your solicitor, therefore unlikely amount to protracted. Just wait until you've had ilr for 12 months. See https://immigrationboards.com/viewtopic ... 2efb0c4d4a
