online bank statements

Hello

Can anyone tell me whether the UKBA accept online electronic bank statements providing they are stamped by the bank and with a covering letter saying they are authentic?
My account is not a "online account" as per the rules but I've had difficulty getting the bank to send me paper bank statements
So I printed the last 6 months from my account online and was going to visit my Branch
Does anyone know whether they will accept online electronic printed statements.
Its for my wife's spouse visa application

if sent by bank with a cover letter , then are fine without stamps too !!
