Dodgy advice from Visa "Specialists"...

Post by alien1 » Sat Jun 22, 2013 12:02 am

Hi guys,

long time listener first time caller...

I recently received some very bad advice regarding my visa application (I was advised that I would be able to travel for business purposes whilst and in-country FLR(O) application was in place,....well - you can't and it seems like after weeks of calling and stamping my feet - my application might not be voided after all thankfully) and I was wondering if there is any recourse to making a claim for damages against my visa "specialist" who I paid a fair sum to assist me in making the application and provide advice.

I understand that there is a regulatory body for these organisation who can investigate my claim and ensure that no one else receives bad advice and ends up in the same position as I am in now -I have no job, no income and no passport, I can't even leave here if I want to else i will be deemed "removed" and have a "black mark" againt my name... but aside from that does anything else exisist?

Was the immigration advisor OISC registered, or a solicitor registered with the Law Society?
