ILR - Absence in last 5 years and documentation.

Post by akshay.gavade » Sat Jun 22, 2013 6:48 pm

Hello,

Has anyone recently applied or going to apply ILR?

I’ll be applying for ILR in August2013. From Last 5 years I’m worked as IT permanent employee and IT Contractor. I heard that if someone is on holiday (outside UK example - India) in that case candidate MUST provide the letter from Company HR saying that person was on annual leave during that period.

Is this True? Any advice/information will be very useful.

Thank you.

According to ILR application, it is true. But, in practice it is at Case Worker's discretion whether to ask you to show any evidence for your absences assuming your absences within any one year of 5 consecutive years is less than 180 days. This site has got a wealth of information and you can dig into it. One of the relevant posts is http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=125765

Cheers
