Hello
I hope you can offer and I have been caught of guard with the new English requirements for ILR for my wife.
From Oct 2013 you are required to do have B1 Level speaking and listening plus life in the uk.
B1 Level Speaking and Listening
My wife will apply in Dec. I was hoping that she could take ESOL with Citizenship material to meet the required English standard, as they only examine speaking and listening. However, looking at the tests which are approved by the UKBA I cannot find any reference to ESOL with Citizenship - http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... -tests.pdf
I spoke to an immigration adviser who told me that my wife would need to take an approved English course and would also need to secure passes in reading and writing as all levels must be passed to get a certificate and she must secure passes in speaking and listen at B1 level.
Can anyone please advise as to whether ESOL with citizenship materials would be sufficient to meet the requirements after Oct 2013.
