I juzt applied for tier 1 my tb certificate expires on the 18 of july but in the application form I have given the approximete date of travel as the 15 of august do u guys think this would call for rejection and would it complicate things

If they go by rules then you are safe otherwise am not sure.
When one applies for visa every thing is locked at that date. Whether it is IELTS test score which expire in two years or its TB certification from IOM or even conversion rates from home currency to pound sterlings are all applicable at the date of application.
